Sydney-based ice cream store Aqua S opens its first location in Hong Kong. Best known for their signature sea salt ice cream, which has a vibrant aqua-blue colour and a perfect balance between sweet and savoury, Aqua S updates its menu with two time-limited soft serve flavours every first and 16th of the month. Currently, the store offers pistachio and black sesame, which can be enjoyed by themselves or combined with Aqua S' signature sea salt flavour in a twist.  Customers have the option to enjoy soft serves in a cup or cone with toppings like cotton candy, toasted marshmallows, popcorn, popping candy, and chocolate-coated pretzel sticks as add-ons to their frozen treats.

As the newest addition to the airport's food and drink offerings, Intervals aims to provide a one-of-a-kind experience with artisanal drinks and food programmes, as well as a sensational view of the airport.With its name and concept inspired by the fluidity of time, and how we use intervals of time during travelling, the bar's menu revolves around a series of cocktail flights comprised of miniature drinks (from $158 and up) that will take you anything from 15 to 45 minutes to finish – perfect for a quick sip before your flight. But if that's not enough, Intervals can also create full-sized portions ($148 each) of all cocktails featured in their flights. Additionally, the bar provides a range of pinchos for customers to nibble on, including a reinvented take on prawn toast ($52) and a delectable waffle topped with banana, almond butter, and maple syrup ($52). NOTE: Intervals' opening hours are currently 11am to 8pm daily, but will be changed to 7am to 1am daily in three weeks.

Created by Bart Szyniec and Giuliano Dacasto, the founders of Deadly Rabbits Concepts, Porkcentric sends diners on a journey through Central Europe with hearty pork-based dishes. Priding themselves on their expertise in pork, Porkcentric sources their pork from five different pig breeds around the world –  American Duroc, English Hampshire, Japanese Kurobuta, Italian Cinta Senese, and Hungarian Mangalica. As the only spot in the city offering Polish cold cuts, Porkcentric’s dedicated salumeria offers unique cuts of meats such as Slovenian deer salami, Italian cinghiale boar salami and cooked Hungarian Mangalica shoulder. Complemented with a selection of cheeses, select your choice of three or five cuts ($198/$298) of cured meats for your tasting platter. With a high marbling content, their Hungarian pork chop tomahawk (18/20 ounces, $568) has a melt-in-your-mouth consistency and is ridiculously tender. Housing a curated selection of craft beers from international breweries and local breweries like Moonzen – which comes from ceiling-mounted beer tanks each holding 500 litres of brewed beer – Porkcentric provides their diners with a large selection of beer to complement their pork-focused dishes.

American gourmet sandwich chain Eggslut is set to open its doors in Hong Kong from June 16! Founded by chef Alvin Cailan in 2011, Eggslut first started out as a food truck based on the streets of Los Angeles, and has since expanded to owning several chains around the globe, including London, Singapore, Tokyo, and South Korea. Following successful launches in the United States, Australia, Japan, and Thailand, Pizza Hut is bringing their newest menu item, Melts, to Hong Kong. Unlike regular slices of pizza, Melts fold over to form a pocket and sandwich fillings between each side, making them mess-free. Cinemas across Hong Kong to sell $30 movie tickets for one day only

Following a press conference on April 24, the Hong Kong government is set to launch the ‘Happy Hong Kong’ campaign in efforts to boost public morale and consumption. To kick things off, prices on movie tickets will be slashed down to only $30 each at cinemas across Hong Kong. Citizens can grab tickets online or at box offices on April 26 from 11am onwards (while stocks last); each person can purchase up to four tickets. Then, from April 29 to 30, a large-scale gourmet international food market will be taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets for the gourmet food market will be distributed this week at Home Affairs Department buildings across Hong Kong districts on a first-come, first-served basis. Two other food markets are set to take place on May 6 to 7 at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza and Sha Tin Park, and June 3 to 4 at Vessel in Kwun Tong. The ‘Happy Hong Kong’ campaign will continue to roll out with more events in the coming months, such as Ocean Park’s ‘Chill All Night’ in June, which will allow up to 5,000 guests to enter the park for free on Saturday evenings to watch light shows and live performances; the ‘Harbour Chill Festival’ at Wan Chai Promenade every weekend in July, which will see live music performances taking place on a floating stage on the water; and a cross-cultural football program, where English football league Manchester United’s U16 division will be flying into the city during August to play against Hong Kong’s elite youth p

Autobots assemble – Transformers: The Ark has officially opened its doors in Causeway Bay! The first of its kind, the Transformers-themed restaurant takes inspiration from the spaceship in the animated series that was set to fly towards planet Cybertron before crashing onto Earth. As the 3D screen plays animated clips and music, the engines will come to life and light up. Its interior is also meticulously designed to look like the inside of the spacecraft, welcoming diners aboard the Ark while cruising through space. Cathay Pacific is giving away over 27,000 round trip flight tickets to fly out of Hong Kong

As part of the government’s ‘Hello Hong Kong’ initiative, World of Winners is a campaign that’s currently giving 500,000 free round-trip airline tickets away to travellers from all around the globe. The $2 billion campaign aims to help boost Hong Kong’s tourism and business industries while attracting foreign investors.  WOW has allocated 83,000 tickets and will be distributing them to those in mainland China travelling into Hong Kong from April 17 to 23, and 27,314 tickets for those residing in the Greater Bay area travelling out of Hong Kong to 46 cities from April 24 to 30. The campaign will gradually roll in in Northeast Asia and other markets from May onwards, and Hong Kong from July onwards. To enter the ticket giveaway, participants must first select their city of departure or their desired travel destination, before filling in a form with their full name, email address, and phone number. Applicants for the giveaway must be over 18 years of age and have an account with Cathay’s membership programme. Winners of the giveaway will later be notified through email. Michelin Guide 2023 announces six new Bib Gourmand establishments in Hong Kong

Prior to the Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macau 2023 award ceremony taking place on April 26, this year’s Bib Gourmands have officially been announced on April 12. A total of 72 food establishments in Hong Kong and Macau have been appointed with the prestigious recognition. Within the selection of 65 eateries that were named in Hong Kong, six new venues make their first appearance on the Michelin Guide. The Bib Gourmand is awarded to establishments that offer wallet-friendly gourmet experiences, which consists of three courses (without drinks) for a maximum of HKD400 or MOP400. Similar to Bib Gourmands from previous years, the selection of venues this year range from street food eateries to dine-in restaurants, all of which offer vibrant fare that stands out in the city’s local dining scene. Fisholic (North Point) specialises in creating street food items out of minced fish, like deep-fried French fries, fish skin nachos, and other snacks. Takeout-shop Sai Kwan Lo Jo offers bites from Guangdong’s Xiguan region, such as hand-made lai fun noodles and sticky rice dumplings. Saya’s Thai kitchen team serves a range of authentic dishes from the Isan region of Northeast Thailand, from aromatic coconut milk curry with chargrilled chicken to salt-crusted grilled fish. Following Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ announcement of their 51st to 100th rankings on March 16, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. The 10th annual event was held in a live ceremony in Singapore on March 28, as well as live-streamed globally on Youtube. To spread their message of healthy living from now until the Sevens, Bupa has launched the Healthy Cities pop-up truck, which will drive around different locations in Hong Kong to promote the importance of physical and mental wellness. Aside from being decked out in Bupa’s signature colours and carrying a giant rugby ball, the pop-up truck also has various digital games where you can test out your rugby knowledge and have fun with interactive technology. Photograph: Courtesy Bupa Hong Kong During the pop-up event, Bupa has partnered with Panoptic AI to offer an AI Healthshot station on the truck, where you can receive a free health check by scanning your face. By using AI technology, the station will give you an assessment of your health index, stress level, skin texture, and other vitals all within a minute. After completing the activities, you’ll receive gifts such as an Oatly oat drink, or a Bupa rugby-shaped stress ball. HK boy group Mirror plans for global debut with new all-English single

Cantopop powerhouse boyband Mirror is releasing their first all-English single Rumours on all digital streaming platforms on March 17. The brand new single marks the group’s beginnings as international artists after signing with global music label Sony Music Entertainment. Working together with heavyweight hitmakers Chris Meyer and Alex Ludwig Lindell, who’ve produced songs for K-pop groups such as Super Junior and Shinee; Mirror’s English debut track is set to be an earworm. The EDM-influenced song features a futuristic bassline which carries the group members’ vocals. While we don’t have many clues as to what Rumour’s music video will look like, Mirror fans can anticipate high energy and synchronised dance moves from the boys.
